The Craft Pottery Accessibility Info

We're passionate about creating a fun and inclusive space. Always reach out with any accessibility questions before booking, and we'll do our absolute best to accommodate everyone in your party.

Wheelchair Access

Our front door is able to accommodate all chair widths, so our painting/party room is accessible. Due to the old warehouse structure of our building, we do not have a direct access to a wheelchair accessible toilet. Our pottery lesson/workshop rooms are also located on the first floor of the building, so they are not directly accessible. The nearest accessible toilet is located in Central Station which is about 10 minute walk or 4 minute drive away. Please let us know if you are attending in a wheelchair or mobility scooter - this way we can choose a table that is easy to maneuver in and out of.

Age Requirements

Although we don't have any strict age requirements, it's worth noting that the nature of our business does cater more to an adult audience on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as all day Saturday. This is due to large groups including hen parties, work nights and adult birthdays (we are a BYOB establishment). It is also usually quite loud and we play all genres of music. Sundays and weekdays tend to be much more family-friendly, but get in touch if you are unsure of when to book.

Baby Facilities

We are a safe space for breastfeeding a child, and can offer a seat in our reception if you would prefer to be in a more private area. We don't have lots of extra space, so we do ask that if you plan to bring a pram/s that you let us know so that we can allocate the correct amount of room for your booking. There is a large surface in the second floor toilets which can be used to change your baby. We have one highchair which can be reserved to use during your session, just let us know when booking.

Sensory Difficulties

Our painting room gets quite noisy, specifically at weekends and evenings. If you struggle with loud spaces, you can choose an outdoor table where there are only 3 other tables and we don't play music. Other options include: choosing to book for a quieter time, we are happy to discuss when these fall week to week, or ordering a takeaway kit so you can enjoy pottery painting in a place you feel totally comfortable. The bisque pottery can also have a strange feel (quite dry and rough) and our paint can have a chalky feel - if you struggle with these textures we have latex-free, vinyl gloves you can wear during painting. Painting can be messy, but we have plastic aprons for you to use and the paint washes out of clothes very easily.
